Hey guys-

I have a ballast box that I'm modifying to fit on a quick hitch. I need to properly locate the top pin mount before welding.Should the top link pin just rest in the quick hitch hook? I would reason that the top link is not meant to carry any weight since it only provides support in the horizontal plane on a three point without a quick hitch. Am I thinking correctly?

Yes, just set it using the center to center dimension of the QH (should be 18"). Note that if you have weight on the top hook, it will just transfer to lower pins, since the QH is rigid. However, I usually make implements with + margin on the dimension to keep the weight off the pin and make unhooking easier.

Thanks! I located it so it is a little loose on the top hook. I'm sure once I get the box filled with concrete, things will settle.
