None -yet. Until then FunBuggy (EZ-Go) will have to do!
Every year there's a great Labor Day weekend event called the Thresheree just outside of Edgerton, Wisconsin. The main theme are all of the old steam engines and tractors that are not only on display, but also used in demonstrations. And everyday at 2:00 p.m., they have the "Parade" of all of these engines and tractors through a natural amphitheater. It's really something to see! And the food!! If you're in this neck of the woods during that weekend, and looking for something to do, stop by and give it a try. I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed!

Here's a link to the events homepage - The Rock River Thresheree

Looks like a good time. Mt. Pleasant, Iowa also has a threshers reunion each year and it is one of the largest in the country. Here's their webpage: Midwest Old Threshers Reunion

My Uncle Gillie had a collection of over 100 antique engines that he would display and Pop would take us kids up to watch 'em run every year. Now my kids go with me and they have a great time.

Garry...

If you're going this year, I'd appreciate it if you could take some pics and post them here. Thanks!

Well Bob, I'm hoping to go. This is the first year that I'm not working at the event. I've always volunteered to work the Red Cross first aid both, as I'm a certified first aid/CPR instructor. But this year, it looked like we were going to be gone, so I didn't sign up. Now we're going to be around, but the wife and in-laws have some other ideas!

I'd love to go and use my new digital camera. Did you have anything in particular you'd want pictures of?

If you could and if it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate pics of old John Deere tractors and implements, especially the old cast iron tractor and implement seats. I am starting to collect these old seats and have always been intrigued by the intricate artwork that the forgers used in molding these seats. Thanks!

I'll see what I can do Bob. I haven't gotten any definite answers to questions about the weekend yet. There may still be something floating around out there that I haven't been told about.

But now that I have a mission, it might just be easier to get a few hours to escape out there! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Garry:

If you run across any Allis Chalmers G models could you get a few pictures. Those are the really neat looking ones with the engine in the back. I just picked one up for $400 and want to restore it.

Sure thing Russ. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

In laying out plans for the next few weeks, we're going to be real busy with our annual Parade of Homes. My wife has two homes in the Parade this year. Since it starts the weekend after Labor Day, she'll be tied up the entire weekend of Labor Day putting the finishing touches on the houses. I'm always helping her, but when it gets down to the finishing touches, I'm like the bull in the china shop. Keep me outa there! So I expect I'll be able to get out there for a while one of those days.

Russ, I just read an article in our local paper that Allis Chalmers is the featured manufacturer this year, so I'd be willing to bet there will be alot of choices.

I will be able to get out there after all (on Sunday I think). Haven't found anybody else that wants to go, but that's O.K. It'll let me concentrate on trying to get some good shots for you and Bob. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to wear my TBN hat, so who knows - maybe someone will walk up to me and we'll discover we've been "talking" to each other on the net! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
