I am having problems with my throttle moving on my TC33D. I can get going down the road or on a job and have my throttle set at 1/2 or 3/4 and then it will work its way back down to the lowest position of idle. It appears that something is loose. When I first got it home in Nov it was very tight. I sprayed some WD-40 down in it and it loosen right up but it always stayed in one place until today. I think I need to remove the cover and tighten a nut or something.

Has anyone else had this problem?

How do I remover that back cover behind the hood to get to the throttle linkage? It looks like 6 bolts come out from the hood side (firewall)?

It is a common problem.

Check out this link, you can also do a search for more information.

( I think I need to remove the cover and tighten a nut or something ) That's right. Open the hood, remove the RH side cover. Remove two 8MM (13mm hex head) bolts that hold the front of the lower (black) cowl cover, they are closest to the edge, one near the top and one a couple inches up from the bottom edge of the panel. Remove two more of the same size bolts where the L and R halves join under the steering wheel tilt cylinder. Pull the cowl panel out at the bottom and down from underneath the dash panel. if you need to, remove the keyswitch from its mount hole, or disconnect it from the harness connector. I ALWAYS double nut the throttle friction disc to stabilize it. I believe it is a 10mm nut. Or you can use blue loctite, or nail polish to keep the single nut stable.

I will work on it today, I am glad this site is here. I will use the 2 nut jam system.

I like that "loose nut behind the wheel"

Thanks, you were right on it! Easy fix, I used the jam nut fix. Works great now. It was not hard at all to get too once you know how.
