Century 2535
Well I went and did it! I ordered a 2535 Century with the c'50 loader and rear remote this week . Had to get the CFO´s test drive approval, but she agreed that for our needs it was the best buy and we priced all of the big 3. Good machines, just not the same value as the Century. I have a very funny feeling that come fire wood hauling time I am going to be stuck on the front end loading the bucket. Now it is hurry up and wait time for the couple of weeks it will take the tractor to be delivered. willie jones

I asked my wife if she wanted to drive the tractor when we first bought it. I too ended up on the ground for several hours while she played (I mean worked).

One thing for sure though, if the wife likes the tractor it is a lot easier getting her to approve those "much" needed implements. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now brace yourself for a long two weeks waiting....

Hope YOU actually get to drive it once and a while!

Way cool Willie. You are going to have a fine time with that machine. Now, count tractors in your sleep for the next few weeks, while you wait. Ahhhh the wait...it's a killer. You'll have to find something to keep your mind off of it....like gardening, fishing, working the wood..... or other activities? Good luck.

Thanks to all of you for your support and advice. Felix, I bought the tractor from Ben Thrasher in Buchanan. He is a new dealer, but literally is right over the mountain from where I work in Bedford, so is very convenient. He is about 2 miles from the nearest I-81 exit on Rt 11. You can find his complete address and info on the Century website dealer locator.

As for the wait, I thought you outgrew the Christmas eagerness you had as a kid, but I guess not. Although the garden and budget woes at work should keep me distracted for a while. Willie Jones

I thought I would resurrect this OLD post and provide an update on my experiences. 12 years and 967 hours later my Century 2535 (Branson 3510) is still going strong. It has been used for just about everything imaginable, gardening, bush hogging, skidding logs, clearing brush, hauling firewood, moving logs at a sawmill…… Shown are two pictures from yesterday where I was skidding dead pine logs from our forest to be milled. The clutch is getting worn from extensive use and will need replacement in a another couple of years, and I have replaced the fuel pump and glow plugs. I expect to replace the seat sometime in the future as the old one just was not made very well. Some loader hoses were replaced. But it still has a lot of lift for such a small frame tractor. In the pictures I have a norse 350 winch on the rear and a Westendorf brush crusher grapple on the front. Many thousands of board feet of logs and firewood have been moved with that combo. For me it has been a good investment. W Jones
