Backhoe Thumb for Chinese HW04X Backhoe

I have boulders everywhere and am exploring a thumb. Different searches within TBN have information mainly about Kubota, JD, and others. Have any of you Chinese BH owners added a thumb?

There as so many sizes and I don't know how to size it. I phoned one supplier today and told them I needed some technical information regarding buying one of their thumbs. Someone called me back and told me I didn't need any more information. It was a very short conversation and didn't leave me with any confidence in them. What is this...one size fits all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're considering a mechanical thumb, versus a hydraulic one, then it is almost a one-size-fits-all thing, I think. You simply adjust the mounting location of the thumb pivot so you can pin it in a position that will allow your bucket to work against it. At least that's the way the ones I've seen on backhoes and track hoes work. Admittedly, the thumb on a small backhoe on a trencher is a different size than the one on a gigantic extend-a-boom trackhoe, but the function is the same and the size isn't that much different.

If it were me, I'd probably consider a hydraulic thumb and just make it myself from scratch, but even a mechanical one wouldn't be tough to make if you stick with the fixed-position type you just pin in place and work against with the bucket. The complex one is the job that has an arrangement so the thumb moves when the bucket is tipped - I'd be hopelessly lost trying to make that sort of thing work right.
