Tiashan Dragon 270
I just recently purchased a Tiasahn Dragon 270 tractor. The tractor runs and looks great. It has a 3 point hitch and is a diesel. I bought it for $900 so i dont think i got hurt at all. The problem im having is my tractor ignition switch broke and im needing a new one. The one in it is a jk406. Ive tried to get one but they are in china. Anyone know where i can get a original or one to replace it. I just dont want to try and figure out all those wires. Also anyone know about these tractors and what would it be worth. The tractor works great and all lights but one and thats because i dont have that light assembly and gauges work. The tractor has minor rust spots but you can tell its been sheltered. I just need to figure this switch out so i can get back to using it.

Don't waste time or money on an OE switch, they don't live long. You can get by just fine with any cold-start switch. By that, I mean one that has an extra key position to accommodate the engine pre-heater (glow plugs or flame heater). Auto parts and farm stores will sell you one, and give you change back from a twenty. And if you buy a Ford or Lucas type, the diagram in the PDF file below will help you "figure out" some of the wiring.

Thanks, I figured that would work but I know its going to be aggrevating to find what wire are which. Does anyone know if parts are difficult to find for these tractors. I know they are not like a deere or ford but I would like to atleast know I can get them if need be. Thats the only reason im thinking of selling. If parts are hard to find then its best to let it go while its in running and good condition.

Contact Chip at ARTRAC, he carries TaiShan parts. But be prepared to give him the information off the engine data label.

And if you can use a multimeter, there's nothing aggravating about finding which wire is which. You already know there's only going to be 4 wires connected to the switch. It's just a matter of figuring out what's at the other end. Pull the switch out of the hole with the wires still attached. One will be Battery, which typically comes from the ammeter. With the key in the OFF position, that will be the only one that registers 12v on your meter. For the rest, you switch the multimeter to measure resistance. Start wire goes to the starter solenoid. Label it. Heat to the glow plugs or flame heater, Run to the fuse box. If you find a 5th, it will likely be Accessories - and it too goes to the fuse box. Put one multimeter probe on the next wire in back of the switch. Use the other probe to touch the starter solenoid, the pre-heater, the fuse box. When the multimeter shows zero ohms, you've found the other end. Label it, move on to the next wire. When you've got all the wires behind the old switch labeled, simply move them to the new switch.
