Around here in the fall, flocking birds eat a lot of ticks in the fall, but if you have animals or noises that keep the birds off the ground, they don't help much.

Thanks for the advice and links on the Guinea fowl.

We already have chickens. They are not known for getting ticks, BUT they are amazing on Japanese beetles.

In the early days of my Alaska adventure - we used a military Deet product to control mosquitos. As I remember, it was "listed" for ticks, fleas, etc. It was a really "hot" product - 95% active ingredients. Spray it on your clothing - definitely avoid direct spraying on any skin. On my skin it would make it - pebbly - like hundreds of small blisters. That stuff and a stinky 'ol cigar and a person was pretty well protected for most of the day.

Ticks have been insane here in central VT this year. Really mild winter with barely any snow might have helped the tick population
