Trying to remove the tie rod ends on a Kubota L3600, when I try and back the nut off holding tie rod end the nut and bolt are turning, am I overlooking something or is there a trick to removing the tie rod end,

The taper of either the steering arm or the tie rod end is worn. Your best bet is a nut splitter. When the nut is off you will have to determine if a new tie rod end will be tight in the tapered bore or if the part that is bored will have to be replaced also.
Good luck. .. .

As smilinjack says, the taper is worn, likely from the rod end being loose. You could try tightening the nut to wedge the shaft more tightly in the taper, then back off the nut. If that doesn't work, then it's cut it off.

grinder with a cut off wheel. cover any painted surfaces or the cuttings / filings will stain them with rust overnight.
