this one runs an oxidation cat, a diesel particulate filter, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for NOx, meeting the Tier 3 Bin 125 standards that will be phasing in through 2025
from an article on the new GM 1.6 ltr diesel engineered in Italy and built in Hungary and soon coming to us.
All these emission tiers are confusing when we often talk here about Tier 3 and 4 for diesel tractors. If the standards get more stringent
as the Tier number goes up, I'm surprised this new standard isn't Tier 113 by now.
Tier 3 Bin 125 sounds like an Australian wine...
Is this Tier 3 the same Tier 3 as one diesel tractors?
I guess the real question here is what's coming at us next? Are the standards for gasoline and diesel engines the same? I wonder if this standard is the one the automakers are trying to get Trump to reconsider. Sounds more like a current standard if it is "phasing in" as the article said.
Perhaps I misread the article and this is a Euro standard but I'm guessing Bin is not something you put bolts in.
