Hello all,

I have been watching prices as I will be purchasing a tractor sometime around mid-late summer.

On average, in the 35-40hp range I have seen approx. $2k increase from Tier III to IV for LS.

6 months ago I could get an R3039H for under $20k, now the equivalent XR3037H is close to $22k..

What are you guys seeing?

What kind of increase are the other mfg's charging?

Kubota tractors in 35-40 hp range are up 15% to 20%. Sad but true.

The L3560 I recently purchased is a re-design from the predecessor L3540 so it is hard to parse price increase on an apples-to-apples basis.

Many companies are adding other design changes, features along with the Tier 4. Many of these redesigns are not all that expensive but help in blending the cost increase.
$2K alone without other redesigns is not out of line considering basic minimum required on the engine: Adding Electronic Injection w/ High Pressure Common Rail, and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst. If other exhaust after treatment is needed like DPF or SCR (DEF) then increase might be more.

I'm not questioning the reason for the cost increases, I'm just trying to get an idea how much on average they are..

It seems Tier IV roll-out + spring demand is adding up to some big price jumps this year...

Have you thought at all about a lightly used low hour machine. Definately a money savings there. The used market has a lot to offer.
