I think boudreaux has the answer to really do the job right. However, if you don't have time to go through all of those step right now, try doing what I did on my Mitsubishi built 2615 Mahindra. I had the very same symptoms with the lever, almost bent it trying to use it. On my tractor I am able to look into the area where the linkage is located. I sprayed some lubricant on every location where there is a pivot joint. This helped a lot, but didn't fully give the results I was expecting. Upon further inspection I notice one of the linkage rods had a jam nut on the end, and the rod was actually being bound up because of it. All I had to do was loosen the jam nut and back off the adjustment nut to the point I had total freedom of movement, up and down. This was 10 years ago and never a problem since, and because my tractor is in a shed, I rarely have to lubricate those linkage points, although I know I should.Sorry, I haven't had a chance to get back on lately. I thank you very much for the reply. I hope to get a chance to try to get that taken care of before too long.
