tight turns with CC2042

anybody else have a problem with tearing up lawn on tight turns even at low speeds? The front tires dig up the lawn making tight turns, I guess the obvious thing would be to let some air out of front tires although they are not over inflated. My soil is sandy which is part of the problem, but my old tractor never did this, of course it had no where near the turning radius either. It seems to do this even if the ground is very dry. I want to be able to take advantage of the turning radius without leaving an arc of bear dirt. I will try deflating the tires and see what happens.

I have a CC2042 and had the same issue.

I lowered the tire pressure about a pound and go SLOW on tight turns. I would guess the amount of torque/horsepower/short wheelbase have something to do with the front end plowing a bit.

I rarely leave the arc skid marks anymore.

Note: My CC2042 is by far the best investment I have made in years.

Same here with my CC 2180. Best tractor I've owned.

I would have to say its one of the strongest lawn/garden tractors too. They are made pretty well. I don't know why the fronts would be tearing up the yard, but you may want to check the toe in as well. Sometimes you may have too much toe in, you should have some, just not too much that you're riding on the sidewalls. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Tony, are the tires aired to ops manual specs? They were WAAAY overfilled on my 2544 when I got it. If the pressures are to specs & it still slides, call the dealer.

I have about 13psi in the front and about 9 psi on the back which is about 1 psi less than max. They were underinflated from the dealer on mine, but inflating them more still hasn't solved the problem. I am going to check the tow in and see if it is correct, other than that I guess I will give the dealer a call.
