I have a yanmar 1400 tiller on the back of my 2202D and it came with controls on the fender. It has a joy stick for ajusting the angle and to knobs to the side of the joystick.. One knob has two detents and one know has three detents.. I have played with them and sometimes it does make it move a little and sometimes it doesnt? Dont have a clue what these are for or what I am doing... On my three point I have limet switches connected to the hydrolic cyclender and on the tiller there is a black box with wires connected to the control box... I can unplug the black box and the limet switch and the joy stick still works so I am thinking these must be related to the other two knobs on the control box.. Does anyone have one of these and know what they do?? I also have two levers on the right side of the seat. One moves the tiller up and down and the other on I have not a clue what it does.. I ordered the closest manual for the 2202D that I could get and it is different than what is on my machine... 330-336 manual. HELP! Dan

Dan,
Your tiller has automatic depth and level (tilt) controls. The depth is controlled by a cable that moves with the flap at the back of the tiller. The other end of the cable should go to a lever near the 3pt lever. You should actually have two 3pt lift levers. I think the inner one should let you set the depth. The outer actually lifts and lowers the tiller. I'm not sure exactly what the knobs do, but one should allow you to override the level controls. Maybe the other allows you to override the depth controls.

I don't actually have a tractor and tiller with this setup, although I have seen a YM1702D with this type of setup. I think Yanmar called it UFO. Perhaps others on this discussion board can provide more insight.

Greg, I do have two levers next to the seat, One does move it up and down. The other doesn't seem to do anything that I can tell. There is that cable hooked to the flap and it seems to be hooked into linkage that is near the second lever that does not seem to do anything.. I have done little tilling so far just to try to figure it out.. There was a UFO sticker on the 2202D. When I do move the upper knob to the left detent sometimes it will move the tiller. Sometimes it wont.. I am thinking if it is in a certen postion it will make it move... The lower knob with the three detents, right, middle, left does not seem to do anything.. Thanks Greg.

I have a 1720D with the same type of set up that you described, but I do not have a tiller so I have not used it at all. I was told that the inside lever next to the lift lever was for draft control, but that it only worked with the origional tiller. I do not know if this is true or not.

crb478,
That is what I was trying to say. The inside lever is in essence a draft control for the tiller in that it sets the tiller depth.
