Which size are you looking at?

I have a 1630 and run a 60 inch tiller with it. It works but on large areas it does take a lot of time.

I also have a Kubota 4630 which runs the tiller a lot better, in fact I just purchased a 72 inch tiller for it.

A lot is going to depend upon your soil conditions and the amount of moisture in the soil. I would think that you should have no problem with the 72 inch model in most soils.

i agree with yo kensfarm but the tillers of Nh are tilling only 4 inch deep or am i wrong?
This is tilling 8-10 inch deep
this is a big difference and when you don't plow it is in hard ground so you need a lot of power so the E-160 is the maximum i think

"but the tillers of Nh are tilling only 4 inch deep or am i wrong?"

I think you got some bad info.. NH tillers can go just as deep.

If you want to save yourself some time, wear/tear on your tiller.. break up the soil first w/ a plow.

I usually only till deep to make hills for planting potatoes.. the rest of my tilling is seed bed prep.. or getting "organic stuff" mixed into the soil.
