Tiller tiller gearbox temp.

Should the gearbox on a 3 pt tiller feel warm after tilling a garden around 35ft x 120 ft . I don't mean hot to the touch but just warm. Thanks Larry

I would think after running that much it is going to be a little warm. Now if you can't touch it then you have problems.

That is not unusual at all. A new machine that is run the first few time will probably be too hot to the touch until the gears get wore in to mesh each other more perfectly. That is why I like to change a new machines gearbox oil after the first year of use. Ken Sweet
