Just bought a new woods equipment tiller. Can anyone tell me the purpose for the parking stand which is attached to it.The manual that came with it says nothing about it but searching online it says it is useful for easier attachment hookup and for storage purposes.Should I put this on every time I take the tiller off the tractor or just use occasionally. Thanks for your input.

Does it have multiple holes so that you can slide it up out of the way? That is how my Woods grader blade was.

I should add, my King Kutter rotary tiller is balanced so well, it stands without extra support. Even sliding the PTO shaft in or out effects the balance.

I could see it's purpose if it nose dives every time you unhook. Probably the result of someone getting smashed between the tiller and tractor. I have a very old and heavy Howard rotovator and gravity could get you when hooking it up.

Depends on how you have the depth skid adjusted if you set it to max tilling depth they sit on tines not skids and will roll forward making it hard to hook up be happy its there even if you don't use it.

Leave it on all the tiller all the time, but raised when actually tilling. It is there for parking in a relatively stable position. I block mine so it won't roll backward or forward in case the kids or grandkids happen to be messing around it.

I use the stand on my Woods tiller when the unit is disconnected from the tractor. I place 4x4 wood blocks on the ground and set the tiller skids on these to get the unit up off the ground for storage. On the side of the tiller with the parking stand, use a long 4x4 so the stand foot can rest on it as well.

My tiller manual doesn't say anything about the stand, other than illustrations of it. :)

Just don't forget to raise it in use. It bends pretty easily.

You're doing exactly as I always did with my Bush Hog brand tiller.

Yes. Mine (without a kickstand) falls forward when I pull away from it. I man-handle it into position when hooking back up but a kickstand might be nice.

have to use a wrench everytime to loose or tighten but not all lost, would be nice if it had a quick change pin instead
