YM2000
A newbie here.

I just purchased a YM2000... love it so far but I can not get the tiller to mate up with the tractor. The tiller is a RS1400A. When attached to the tractor's 3 PT, the front of the tiller touches the tires! It appears the drawbars need to be 3-4" longer (or the tires are over sized). The PTO shaft that came with the tiller is too short so I suspect it was originally from another tractor. No adjustments on the tiller or the hitch gives the room needed for the tiller to clear the tires.

1) Was this tiller intended for the 2000?
2) Would modification of the draw bars or the tiller work... any suggestions?
3) Or, am I just to stupid to figure it out?

Thanks!

All tho I am not familiar with your specific tractor, I was having a space issue on my Kubota BX with it's limited cat1 hitch. After installing Pat's EZ change system to my lower lift arms, that added roughly 3" in length. Now I don't need to cut the PTO shafts short to get attachments to work. It is not a very good picture to show what I am talking about, but if you look closely, you can see where the lower lift pins were, and where they hook up to an attachment now.
PTO shafts can be lengthen by any business that specializes in drive lines.

I bought a used $300 Yanmar RS1200 rototiller to use with my 2005 Kubota B7510HST. The pto shaft that came with it was junk, so I bought the shortest one I could find at TSC. I couldn't find any shear bolts on that tiller, so I bought a slip clutch. To fit the tiller, new pto shaft and slip clutch onto the 7510HST, I had to remove the 26" long lower 3pt arms and use the 35" long arms from my 1964 MF-135 diesel.

I had to install a 6" long pto shaft extender onto the tiller so the slip clutch wouldn't rub on the sheet metal

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I had a similar problem with my slasher, the front safety flaps would get caught in the rear tyres. I simply made a bracket that allowed me to put the bottom pins of the mower 100mm out from the frame. It consisted of an L bracket with a triangle welded in. I used 10mm steel but should have used a little thicker.

As my top link was then too short, I had to make an extender. This was a piece of square tube that had a hole to suit the original slasher top link fitting, and a couple of side pieces welded on to receive the top link.

Sorry no pictures as I have just come back from the farm.

Roy I use a Rs1400 on a YM2000 and It works great for me. Alot of people sell the Tiller without the correct top link that may be the problem. I believe my arms are 27" eye to eye and hear is a pic of the top link. You can PM me or personal message me and we should be able to figure out the problem.

YOUR PTO SHAFT IS THE CORRECT LEGTH . YOUR TOP LINK IS TO LONG OR UPSIDEDOWN IF IT IS ONE PICTURED.YOUR TILLER NEEDS TO BE AT THE CORRECT ANGLE TO CLEAR TIRES AN THEN INSTAL SHAFT AND YANMAR TILLER TOP LINK ASSEMBALLY. THIS HAPPENS TO ME EVERY YEAR. KEEP PLAYING WITH IT YOU WILL GET IT.
