has anybody ever made or seen a drag that mounts onto the back of a tiller that levels the ground a little better than the flap on the back? when i till gardens my tiller kind of leaves a furrow, i was thinking about making a small drag that would fill/level it? thank you

is the furrow in the center? are the blades all the same size?

My reverse tine tiller does that some. Not really a furrow but some low areas here and there especially when the rear tractor tire goes in a high spot and raises the 3 pt on side or the other. Extending the top link so the tiller is not leaning forward helps a lot. Maybe slightly leaning back. Have you tried adjusting the top link?

the furrow is in between each pass, and its not the top link, its just the edge of the tiller pushes dirt away and makes a furrow

i don't think theres anyway to not have that happen...its the nature of the beast.

Oh I see. Yep, that does bother me some as well. I am sure something could be designed and built to try to smooth that out. It would probably require something hydraulic to change the drag height as each pass has different heights. I doubt it is worth it.

probably not, but i was wondering if you could mount something solid to the tiller and let the "drag" hang on a chain on each end, i think i am going to try that or something of that nature, thanks for the replies

If you come up with something, take some pictures and let us see them! Thanks.

it may be a while, but i will try

I used a section of chainlink fence (dog kennel pannel) chained to my tiller when I did my seven acre field. It does take care of the problem but it was a PITA to deal with in corners and forget about backing up. I took it off and attached it to my ATV and went over the field in spots when I was done.
