Mahindra 4540
Looking at the KK 60" roto-tillers. I have a Mahindra 4540 that see's light-to-medium duty. Would this be a good tiller? It seems like it has pretty good reviews and the price is right. I have 6 100x100ft plots that I'll be alternating through. (two or three a year, on a rotating basis)

Thanks for your input

My opinion, a 72" would be better to cover your tracks.

I have a KK 60" tiller behind my 28HP tractor. Love it. It is unstoppable. Turns a mowed field into garden in 2 passes. With your HP, I would go with a 72".

Awesome. Thank you for the recommendations.

One thing I might add. I will be using this is heavy clay soils. (NC dirt is like cement sometimes) You think the 72" will still get through that ok?

CT soil is rocky clay, and my KK tiller just plows right through it. After I till I have to spend the next 30 minutes scooping up rocks ranging from golf ball to football size. I am now very familiar with why New England has so many stone walls! I have a large rock pile at the edge of my property where I put all the rocks. One of these days I am going to build a waterfall on my pond, and I'll have all the rocks I need!

I have a 72 inch KK and love it. Our clay is like concrete, if you want to till while it is hard you need to adjust the slip clutch and make it tighter and also make several passes to cut a few inches at a time, if you drop it straight down your clutch is going to slip a lot if you don't have it properly adjusted. Also make sure you buy gear oil mine was empty. I prefer to till after a good rain so at least the concrete clay loosens up. After you get it broken up you should be fine in any weather. One of the best attachments I have bought for my tractor

I love my tiller. Useful for so many things. Because if the tiller I got the hf quick hitch. Without it hooking up the tiller was a pain in the back. Now easy peasy.
