OK So I bought a much larger Hyd Cylinder for my tilt dump. When I was home, I played around with the cylinder, but it turns out that its compressed distance appears to be more than just 2" longer than the original. (original is at 20", this is is 22 at least. This all said, I am thinking of moving the mounting eyes lower on the front of the PT (drop them about 3" or so). But that would change the angle of attack on the cylinder. I am running the range of motion through my head and wonder if I am going to bind things up or...

Any thoughts on the matter?

I would use graph paper and a compass to schetch out the archs of possible movement and map out the min and max positions of travel. Once you know that then I would block up the FEL arm, disconnect the cilinder, and make sure that linkage has the travel you need. Or you could just try it :)

Or maybe save that cylinder for making a neat attachment - large brush shear, dumping trailer, etc. - and buy the 20" cylinder.

Moving the mount on the bucket is going to change you break out force and dump motion. Like Swampman stated, try doing some layouts on graph paper or a large piece of cardboard. My suspicions are it won't work.

Probably the most important thing on the bucket, is to make sure you have it horizontal when resting on the ground. A few degrees down will let you go below ground level. When raising the lift arms, do you think you have enough tilt up to keep dirt in the bucket.
