Kubota 1997 L3600DT 4WD with FEL
I received my Tiltmeter last week and of course, set out immediately to mount it. Rick (from R&B) and I kicked around a few ideas. I ended up with this set-up, photo attached. Since this is in a generic forum, I'll mention that it is mounted on a Kubota L3600 ("orange" you glad I pointed that out for you!). I used pop rivets to attach two stainless steel hose clamps to the meter. I did this in order to clamp the meter to the FEL cross brace. I lined the inside of the clamps with thick double sided tape to hold it in place better and to perhaps cushion some vibrations. Okay, so it also prevents the clamps and the back of the rivets from scratching my nice shiny paint, although this was not the main motivation. I find this to be a perfect mounting position as far as visibility goes. It is right in my line of sight and I hardly have to divert my eyes to see it. I'm not sure how this set up might work on other tractors. I think it's neat, effective and since no drilling was done I maintain flexibility.

Tony, that looks real good, as long as you don't take the FEL off. But for me, the times I want the tiltmeter the most are mowing, and I always have the FEL off when mowing.

Good point, Bird. I hadn't thought much about it because I don't take mine off much. When I'm mowing it always seems like I need to use the FEL to smooth out a place or move a rock or knock over a few small trees. As you can tell, I don't do any finish mowing!

I guess there are different flavors of FEL cross braces. On my L2500 (LB400 loader), not only does the cross brace come off, but it's actually 2 bars which double as stands for the standalone FEL (see attachment).

Re: Cross brace - There I go again....

/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif My bad. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

I just went out to check, and the cross brace does go with the FEL. For whatever reason, my remember-y told me that it was the other way around. I should just look first, and speak later... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Glue Guy,

You may have been remembering that the fel joystick stays with the tractor when the fel comes off, as it does on my 2910. Or does it .............
