Tractor
Kubotas, L2800, B6200, RTV900..
The more I poke around these forums and read through the threads the more I want to trade the L2800 HST in for something bigger, something with a cab.. Looking through Kubota's lineup for this year alot of machines really catch my eye like the L39 . The hoe alone on that will beat the pants off the BH75 I was going to put on my L2800 .. But then I look at the L4740 HSTC with the nice cab, oooh..

Hmmm....

What are you looking to do with it? I just got an L39. Have put about 18 hrs. on it since Friday. Lots of folks on TBN have more experience than I do with them but I'll share my 2 cents.

I'm headed into my dealer right now to look at the L39 that arrived yesterday.

The Tractor will be used for general construction purposes around the farm. I need to do alot of trenching to put in automatic waterers for the horses this summer and trenching for electrical as well. I would say I've got about 2500 feet of trenching on my list right now with more possibly to come. It also does all my tilling for the outdoor arenas and should work great with my post pounder, I have about 1500 new posts to pound this month as well. I'm also considering doing hay next year in the back 30 acres, as long as I can get some land to the west of us.

They wanted $54489.00 CDN for a new L39 .. I think I'll be sticking with my L2800 w/ BH75 for now.. :)

What a ridiculous price..

Look at a 5040. Or one of the smaller Grand L's. I'd suggest an L4400 but if you're into HST that's not an option. My B-I-L had no problems trenching for his cattle cisterns using a subsoiler.....and with our soil...well, pounding posts isn't an option, if you get the picture. So you may not need a back hoe for that particular task.

I hear you jnixon. In Ontario Canada they wanted CDA$24500 for a B7800 and I bought one from a dealer in Michigan for US$16K. At the time that was CDA$18K.

Wow 54489.00 cdn!! I just received a price of 35,500 US or about 37,750 CDN for an L39 with BH with QA on loader and BH - 72" bucket - 18" BH bucket - loaded R4s - backup horn - front/back work lights - remote hyd on loader. Not all options I would have added but that is the way the dealer had it.

I assume the 54489 is more than just exchange rate. How was the L39 configured for that price? List here for this tractor as configured is around 41000. The price they gave me was about a 13% discount which I thought was pretty good.

It sure is a hard machine for me to stay away from. The one drawback is I really think I would put an 8ft 6in or 9ft high door on the barn. This would be an add cost of the purchase.

I hope that price inluded taxes, I know they are high across the border.

I was almost insulted with the trade price I was offered on my 50 hr old L3400 when I looked at upgrading to a Grand L.

I'm half thinking about doing a private sale here - loosing out on it a bit and picking up a Grand L in the US.

Prices up here are ridiculous given the $ now. So called local dealer support which I have seen none of, far from justifies the price difference.

Jnixon,
This may not be much help but I just sold my 05 L2800 HST and stepped up to a L4240 HST. I don't have the cab, as I'm down on the Gulf Coast. I'm very impressed with the new machine. To me it's a major step up in ease of operation and comfort. I haven't put it through it's paces in the dirt yet, I'll be doing that as soon as the rain decides to stop and we dry out a bit. I paid 23725.00 for the tractor with LA854 loader, 1975.00 for Bushhog 296 6' shredder and MBX72 BB for 825.00. I drove it all out for 26604.78. Good luck,
You won't be disappointed going with this model.
My two cents,
