Time to paint som older steel buildings

Anyone consider or have experience with latex for pole barn roofs?

I have a barn with corrugated metal for a roof that was painted 5-6 years ago and needs to be painted again. I considered Lowes Latex Exterior paint of some sort. Pressure wash, dry then spray paint.

At 76, I am too old to climb all over my raised rib steel roof anymore.
If I can find somebody who I think will do a good job, I will definitely have them use ONLY the commercial Sherwin Williams product that Morton Buildings recommends.

Thanks Eddie, I guess I never read the fine print on Zinnsser BIN Primer as I was not aware that it was rated for exterior use, used lots of it inside, good stuff.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my recommendation for the Zinnsser BIN primer. I use it on pressure treated deck and porch posts. That is the only exterior use of it that I've had. It's rated for limited exterior use, but I don't really know what that means. I also use it for spraying furniture, cabinets and just about anything that I'm going to spray with enamel paint on interiors.

Back to the painting of older steel buildings. I should have said that it would be good to find something like the Zinnsser BIN oil based primer for the exterior of the metal building. I would talk to the pros at Sherwin Williams to see what they recommend. I have no idea if it's any good on metal or not. I just don't know of anything else that stick like it does.

Shifting gears, did I miss a final up date/pictures/info on that fancy chicken palace you were building?

It's been on delay for quite awhile now. I haven't touched it in six months because of other projects that have to get done sooner.

Sherwin Williams does have a commercial primer for steel buildings, to go under their commercial top coat.

I've had good luck with Valspar Bonding Primer and Sealer. I've used it the exteriors of two mobile homes, the garage and woodworking shop. As long as the surface is clean, this stuff will stick and stay stuck. The oldest paint job right now is 8 years old and I can't see any failures in the paint job.

On Lowes website, it shows up as an interior primer, but the can reads interior/exterior. It's good enough that I keep a gallon on hand for small jobs.
