Formerly owned Yanmar 2000BD, Now Kubota 3710
Its time to part with my Yanmar 2000BD. 22 HP 2 cylinder, 4x4, gear drive. I bought this tractor about 12 years ago, mostly to be used for mowing fields and it's run like a top ever since. It had 900 hours, now at 1425 and the oil has been changed every fall and I'vekept up service on the other fluids. It has the original rear rice tires and was brought into the country unmolested before any Vietnam refurbs were imported. The roll bar was made by a local welder before you could purchase a factory model. I've enjoyed this forum tremendously and will still check the post from time to time. Thanks to all of you that take the time and trouble to help us 叢arts changers keep up these great little tractors running. And, I'd like to ask for your help with my Yanmar one last time. What do you think would be a fair selling price? I live in the mountains of NC near Boone. Thanks in advance! Disc Course 064.jpg

Great looking tractor. Can I ask, the (mowed) field behind the tractor, was that mowed with the cutter on the back of that tractor? And if so is it a brush hog type rotary mower, or a finish mower?

Don't know enough about pricing to suggest a price. But $5k sounds like a very good price from a buyer perspective.

That mower behind his tractor is a rough cutter (bush hog type) it's not a finishing mower

that was my supposition... so the question is really more about 'did that mower, on that tractor, mow that field behind the tractor in the image"

I ask as I have a similar field that I would like to try and mow with a bush hog type cutter. My worry is that the bush hog style cutter might not get much 'grab' on fairly light field (old pasture) grass, weeds etc.

Try your cutter and see. I have made some nice looking cuts with my rotary cutter. I have to keep the blades sharp and the cutter close to the ground

Kenmac is right. The grass around the tractor was cut with a finish mower. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks.

Any bites on the listing for your tractor?

And yes, kenmac did correctly identify the attachment on that tractor as a brush cutter, and then suggested that I try my cutter and see what results I get. However, I don't actually have a brush cutter, which I why I was asking if the field behind the image you used for your tractor listing was cut with the cutter on the back of the tractor. I am considering the purchase of a brush cutter, but worry it wont provide the results I am looking for.

Thanks again

If a lawnmower type finish is what you're looking for, I suggest you get a finishing mower.

No calls yet. I've advertised on Craigslist for $4800, $5200 with the bush hog. As long as the grass is not too high or thick, the Yanmar does a good job of driving the 6' finish mower I own. It's very hard to get a smooth cut with a brush cutter and they will windrow the grass. Also, you'll also gouge the ground when you turn unless it's very flat. Finish mowers however will not stand up to nearly as much abuse as a brush cutter
