Chevy 4x4, 1940's

Notice the weight and speed. Weight is about like a modern 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup, and top speed is under 50.

Almost every large farm in my area had one to many of these in the 1940's-50's, mostly lettuce growers. The second photo is the style truck that replaced them.

I have a 1949 Chevy Model 4400 (1 1/2T). The specs you post are very similar to my truck.
Same 7.50x20 tires. Top speed is the same, about 48 MPH. I have 11,000 GVW. Same 4 spd. trans. My wheelbase is 161", a little longer than the Army version. Mine was bought for use as a Fire Tanker Truck and has very few miles on it. I take it to car shows, cruises, and parades.
Specs are not much greater than my 13' 1/2T.
