timing cover removal

Working on a tractor with a 3T90 engine. I want to remove the timing cover. I hate surprises. Is there anything specific to watch out for? Is there a better way to do it than what the book says? There is nothing better than advice from someone who has done it.

:ashamed: Nothing new for me. Well, anyway, if you go to the John Deere parts pages they have very good drawings of that engine.
