Timing inj pump on 6700 with BSD444 emissions fuel system?

How does one correctly time inj pump on a 6700 that has had a crate engine installed with BSD444 emissions fuel system? I have a tech manual for 6700 but that fuel inj pump timing isn't included.I had pump removed to reseal it but guy took ill so I had someone else install pump after resealing. Engine runs but appears to sound a little different which I could be imagining.
