Timing marks on 1978 IH684

I'm new here. I have a 1978 IH684. I want to remove the injector pump. Where are the marks for TDC? Can I find them without opening? Where can I look?

TDC and timingmarks on frontpulley, use emerytape to clean paint off the pulley

If you're simply removing the pump for maintenance and not really concerned with the present timing, you really don't need the marks. You can remove the timing window cover plate on the pump, rotate the engine until the marks line up, and remove the pump at that point. When you put the pump back on, rotate the pump housing until the marks are back in register and tighten it down. This will work provided you don't need to turn the engine while the pump is off.

Hi Guys.
I found these marks on the pulley of my ih684 and took a picture.
Which mark is TDC.
I * * I I 1 I 0 I I I I 2 I 0 I I I

where is 20deg BTDC........IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 2 AND 0
............10DEG btdc .........IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 1 AND THE 0

Engine........D-239........Timing Advance......static timing-engine, degrees BTDC = 16

Now for the next bit off info.......Open up the pumps window and turn the engine until the marks in the pump line-up .........the check on the frontpulley where the pointer lines up with the timingmarks . If at 16BTDC .........remove the pump........if not.........thats how it should be returned
