If you're simply removing the pump for maintenance and not really concerned with the present timing, you really don't need the marks. You can remove the timing window cover plate on the pump, rotate the engine until the marks line up, and remove the pump at that point. When you put the pump back on, rotate the pump housing until the marks are back in register and tighten it down. This will work provided you don't need to turn the engine while the pump is off.
