I think my tractor jumped time, won't run, pulled head, all valves check good. Exaust sucks my hand in on one cylinder. Checked for timing marks in Bell housing at flywheel, couldn't find any. I can find marks on Damper pulley, but can't find any marks on front of engine. Haven't got the radiator pulled yet, they didn't design this to be worked on easily. Anyone know where the timing marks are, and is it gear driven or chain? Is there a adjustment or does it have to be replaced? I got the tractor cheep, but it's beginning to be a pain!

It is timing gears. The manual mentions "install the timing gears so that the marks X and Y are aligned". The manual I have is not the best copy, so I cannot see the marks X and Y, but assume they are on the gears.

It also seems you will need to remove most of the accessories from the front of the engine to get to the time gear cover.

Jumping gear teeth is not likely. If it did happen you'll need some parts to fix it.
