I have what I guess would be considered a "grey-market" tiller, a Niplo model SC-1600. It is about 62 inches wide, works really well, and is pretty heavy duty. The only problem is that the tines are getting pretty badly worn, and there are several broken ones. I have been unable to find a source for replacement tines in my area (middle Tennessee). I did contact a place in Hawaii (Rainbow Distributing) that got in touch with the company in Japan that made the tiller, and they can get them for $28.00 each plus shipping. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif So it would cost almost as much to get a full set of tines (32 of them) as to buy a new KK tiller.
Anyone have any suggestions or possible sources for the tines? They are held on with two 14mm bolts, which is different than the other import tillers that I am familiar with, so I think it would be pretty difficult to modify some other tines (especially since they are so hard).
Thanks,
-Chuck
