I will try and post one of these every day but can not promise I will make it every day. I did a similar thing on a surveyors forum I'm a member of and it got a lot of good ideas going. The best thing about these threads is to let them wander because many other people will also have good ideas. Often these tips will be something you already know but once in a while one will come along that you didn't think of.

Todays tip. Sometimes you can loosen a bolt by tightening it up. If you get a stubborn bolt that won't loosen, just give it a little torque and try and tighten it and it will sometimes pop and break it loose. This doesn't always work but has for me sometimes.

A love tap or two with the smooth face of a ball peen hammer will also work on the odd occasion...

Melting candle wax into rusty threads by heating the backside of the bolt and letting the heat draw the wax in as it cools.

And then there are those "danged"left handed threaded bolts!
