Ok went back to the tractor today, about 10'F warmer, much less pissed off......

Note tractor lives with wife's horse about 5 miles from home.

Had tools with me....extra ratchet straps, rattle gun and sockets, jack stand, ether.............

So I use the bucket to get it up in the air, stand under tire so i don't need to worry about hydraulic leakage, hit the back side of tire a few times with the big sledge, ratchet strap it, hit it again, air.........ooh looks like bead is moving outboard........
inch by inch......
step by step......

so short story long, got 25psi in there pulled off the air chuck and the **** schreader valve is leaking....chuck back on and it seals.......

Thanks for the advice..............

Jim

Good to hear you are back in business.

To put a tube in it you have to be sure the tire is clean inside, and it is cheaper to take it to a tire shop. To reshape a tire when it is cold and set is something a tire shop can do with a special tool they fill with air and it blows the air into the tire threw the open section of the bead. It looks like an air tank with a flattened shoveled end.
To fill a tire with the bead broken if it is clean and you can lube it with soapy water or better yet tire lube, I take out the tire valve and use an air nozzle to blow in the stem. I also have a valve stem quick connect that works especially well.

Keep a close eye on your steer tires inflation pressure. Running low is a good way to dent a rim and destroy the cords in the sidewall. I learned this the hard way. Booted and tubed it lasted another 3 or so years for me. If the tire comes off in clean conditions then go ahead and pop back on, but it's very easy to get grit in the bead and have a perpetual slow leaker. For this reason I let my local tire shop take care of mine.

My next door neighbor had the exact same situation happen to him two weeks ago - he had low pressure in the front tires and the left, front tire came off the bead as he was snow blowing his driveway. Valve stem broke off too. He took it to the tire shop and had them fix it. He was back in business a couple of hours later.

Had low air pressure in a front tire today

Of course, you may still have a leaky tire necessitating a future trip to the tire shop.
