Ok. Hello everyone.

Tractor: B2710 with R4 tires

Last year I bought front tire chains for the appropriate size online. I tried to mount them and there is not enough clearance between the R4 front rubber and the tie rod ends.

Am I just out of luck due to poor planning? I would love to use the chains, and the rears are so much more money!

Any thoughts are welcome!

So. I have proven myself a lazy man. I thought last year I had done some searching about this problem, but I must have had a few too many hot totties or something.

Looks like the answer is to turn the tires around, and be careful not to overload the FEL for the next few months due to the additional axle width.

Thanks to the guys who did research on this before. If I break something, I'll post about it.

On my jd i have to be careful only when the wheel is in the extreme turning position, the chain could touch.

Good luck, JB

you'll notice the difference right away...like a whole new tractor. Keep them tight with tire straps and don't try and turn too tight on the hard ball with 4WD. On dirt mud grass it's OK but not on the road.
