1*Forget chains get AG tires and save the hassle of constantly installing and removing chains.ky8t said:I bought a barely used Kubota BX2230 with FEL last year, and it came with turf tires. It is clear that they do not provide sufficient traction for the kind of clearing and landscaping work I need to do on my new home site. As a new tractor owner, I need the advice of the grizzled veterans.
1. Will tire chains provide sufficient traction to do serious work with the FEL?
2. If not, do I need to get tractor or industrial tires?
3. Does it make sense to buy tires and wheels and change them back and forth as my needs change?
4. My tractor has 4WD. Do i need to buy new front tires also?
5. If I need to buy new tires, where can I get the best price?
2*Get AG tires or tractor tires as you call them also known as Lugs or BAR tires.
Industrials are a universal tire.
I've come to find out that bout anything that's universal usually means that it won't work very well for anything.
3*Nope. No sense in always going around switching wheels around when you won't have to do that if you go with AGs.
4*YES because the front tires have to be matched up with the rear tires.
You need 2 18x8.50x8 AGs for the front and 2 26x12x12 AGs for the rear which would be a matched set.
