Just picked up a set up tire chains from the local Kubota dealer for my B7500. Tire says 12-16.5

Box of chains says 12-16.5

These are not even remotely close to fitting. Probably a foot and a half to long. I can cut them to size but would really rather not. Is this expected and needed or am I missing something here and got the wrong size?

Dealers closed until Monday and I kinda needed them this weekend as my driveway turned to solid ice.

Appreciate any insight.

Routine.

Tire chains are made to fit several tire sizes.

Initial fitting is almost always required for proper fit.

BTDT multiple times.

Sure beats having them come too short. How worn are the tires ? Also make sure the tires are inflated properly. Both of those can make quite a difference, but not a foot and a half.

I have 2 sets for the fronts on my L6060 and both needed to be cut to fit. Actually I didn't want to cut the first set immediately so I wired the extra lengths good and then cut to fit the next season. Second set came when I lost a chain from the first set somewhere in a mile of snowbank. Couldn't find it with my metal detector and plowing too difficult without chains so I bought a new set of a more preferable design than the ones my dealer sold. Also too long so used my 36" bolt cutters to remove the extra links. SDT is right - one chain fits several sizes but the company might package it in different labeled boxes for each size it fits rather than one box with a half dozen tire sizes. Doesn't make much sense as dealers have to stock a lot more inventory. My chains came with a part number only and there was a chart stating tire size and which part number to buy.

Sounds like I am cutting them. Just didn't expect them to be so much larger then needed.
