Tire chains.

Just wondering if anyone knows of where to order high quality tire chains for my X740?

I have a set on hold at my local dealership, but $100 is pricey for 2 chains. I could put chains on all 4 corners of my full size truck for that kind of money.

My issue is quality. If the JD chains are the best out there, I will pay it. However, if anyone knows of a very high quality tire chain brand that makes these cheaper, I would love to know!

High quality tire chains are very expensive. I do know that. The best quality chains that I have researched are the Tellefsdal and Aquiline brand names. I have the Aquilines. As far as a size to fit your X740 that I am not sure of. I could not find the Tellefsdal chains in my area. I bought my Aquiline Talons from here:

Get the set from the dealer, you won't be disappointed. I ran a set on my 2305 for 6 winters moving snow on a 150 foot paved driveway plus another 300 foot gravel driveway and parking area. Then I sold them for $40 when I traded up to my 2720. And that guy drove 20 miles to get them.

I have the bar tires and seldom, if ever found the need to use chains. I did put them on once (bought with the tractor) and they did help on ice, but not worth the hassle. With bar tires and rear weights traction is not a concern until I get into really soupy stuff that cannot support the machine. Then it goes to China as it would with chains anyhow.
