About three weeks ago I had a flat in my filled rear tire, 16.9 x 30. I had the local tire place come out and replace the tube and put a boot in the tire. At the time he stated that the bead on the tire was very rusted and the tire would need to be replaced soon. He even went so far as to say that it was dangerous to even try to put the tire back on the rim. Well, as you guessed it, while bush hogging yesterday, the bead broke, tire popped off the rim and split the tube. The ensuing geyser of 60 gallons of fluid drenched me. Luckily I had just come off an incline and was on a flat spot. Also lucky that it was not far from the house as opposed to the back of the farm. As best as I can figure, the tire had to be at least 30 years old. Went by the tire place today and ordered 2 new tires. He said they sell a lot of BKT brand tires. Anyone have any experience with them?
