On my 3320 with unfilled R4s I run 25 psi in the rear and 35 psi up front. The specs say 20 to 31 on the rear and 12 to 49 up front.
No, its not a moot point. You can run slightly lower pressure [a couple psi]. The tire deflection from no load to full load will not deflect as much as if it were just air. Due to the increased compression ratio your tire will actually have higher pressure in it when carrying a full load than would an air tire. Its best to run no load pressure a little soft for good ride -- then with the increased compression you will still be able to get enuf squat at high load to put down a good footprint for traction.I think you guys are right in normal use a tire filled to 3/4 full should have an air pocket large enough to provide a good cushion for the tire. My concern is (right or wrong) climbing over a small rock stump or log where the tire needs to deflect more to keep from bruising the tire. If the air space is reduced by 75% (by filling with liquid) you will have less deflection. Is this a moot point?
