Tires Tire Size question JD 855

I need to replace my turf tires on my 1988 JD 855 the stock size is 33x12x15 rear and 23x8.5x12 front. I would like it go taller for more clearance and some of my attatchments require this. How tall can I go? Did I read somewhere that the newer 855 had taller tires with bigger rims on the front (14"). What size do the 955 have. Thanks for the info

If you put taller rims on the front for more clearance, wouldn't you raise the front of the tractor only, so it is no longer level, and will in effect lower the rear providing less clearance for any 3 point implements.

I think that the newer 855 (1990+) had 25x8.5x14 front and 35x13.5x15 rears, can anyone confirm this.

More significantly, you'll change the ratio between the front and rear drives. The gearing is designed around a fixed ratio of tire circumferences.

could someone tell me the size of there factory turf tires on a JD 955, front and back. as I would like to change my 855 to bigger tires, I am sure that the 955 has 14" rims on front as my 855 only has 12". I will just purchase them if so. thanks

The Operator's Manaul for my 1997 855 says:

Turf front 23x8.50-12
Turf rear 33x12.50-15

For the 955 the OM says:

Turf front 25x8.50-14
Turf rear 36x13.50-15
