I thought that I should share this one!
As most of the country went into a deep freeze I went to move some round bales and proceeded about 50 feet when the tractor bogged down and only the 4WD front tires were spinning. This machine is HST and when I set it to 2WD the rear axle was kind of surging similar to a really badly slipping clutch. This made no sense whatsoever until I discovered that when I first moved the tractor the LR tire was frozen in solid ice and the torque actually broke the bead from the wheel rim and the tire! The temp was so cold that the "flat" calcium filled tire never lost it"s shape and by luck I noticed the wheel spinning with the tire remaining still. PHEW! Just thought this was worth sharing.
