Hey all,

I have a 4200 with the stock turf tires (13.6-16 and 25x8.5-14). The fronts are getting pretty well worn and the rears have been loaded since new in 99 so rims/valve stem are starting to leak a little in the back.

Friend of mine has a set of R4's off his 2038r (14-17.5 and 23x8.5-14) with only about 200hrs that he wants to give me. Wheels hub sizes and bolt pattern all look good. Looking on TractorData.com seems the stock R4 tires on the 4200 were 14-17.5 and 23x8.5-12. So it looks like the rear size is the same, but will there be any issues with going with the 23x8.5-14 over the 23x8.5x12? If I'm not mistaken they are the same overall width and height, just less sidewall on the 14" rim.

If they are both 23x8.50, you will be fine. The Overall diameter is what you have to be careful of when changing tires on a MFWD tractor. It looks like you are good to go. The new tires will have 2 inches of sidewall less than the old ones. Hopefully the bolt pattern and hub circle are the same as well.
