Tires Tires

I'm taking delivery on a L4310 HST, 4wd, loader, and 6 ft rotary cutter this weekend. I plan to use the tractor for light front-end loading, medium duty bushogging, and mowing (my yard). I plan to buy a finishing mower sometime in the next year. I can't decide on which tires to pick. I like the "industrials" but am afraid they will scar the turf in my yard. However, I'm afraid the "turf" type tires will lack sufficient traction for loading and bushogging.

Would appreciate any advice on tire selection

Have you consider truf tires for mowing than the heavier work put tire chains on the rear?

I have a 4310 with the r-4's and I like them they have good traction for loader work and field mowing and are not too hard on the turf! As long as your not planing to do a bunch of work in deep mud I think you will like them. Good luck with the new machine!

I have R-4s on my JD4300 and they provide plenty of traction but I don't work in the mud. I am not real happy with them on my lawn. I have a few more big projects to do with the loader and box blade then I am going to look into turf tires since 90% of my use will be mowing and brush hogging. My brush hogging consists of cutting pasture grasses, though. I have no saplings or brush so i don't think I will have a problem with turf tires. I have thought about loading the R-4s. THere are some threads here on the board that suggest loading the tires will cut down on turf damage.

If your making indentations with the R4's now I can't see how adding weight will improve the situation. Seems contrary to logic. I have R1's and unless the lawns' real soft I can drive across without damage (but I wouldn't want to do much turning)
