Hello,

New guy here. I'm getting a new Kubota 2350 in a week or so. My question is what tires should I get as Kubota offers 3 treads. The "turf" tire is out so it's between the "bar" tread and the "industrial" tread.

Most of the use will be on dirt but I'm afraid the "bar" tread will tear the ground up too much but fear the "industrial" tread will wind up spinning in the dirt, even though the "industrial" tread is fairly aggressive.

The tractor is 4 x 4 with differential lock.

I appreciate any feed back anyone may have.

Thanks, Paul

I have a BX 2350 with the r-4 industrial tires. I use my tractor for a variety of things. I plow my driveway in the winter (asphalt) with a rear blade and the loader. In the summer i mow my lawn (60" mmm). I do limited loader work.

I have never had a traction issue. With the 4x4 and the differential lock - I have always been able to do what I wanted.

I think the Ag tires are too aggressive if you will use the tractor on a lawn. The bars on the industrial tires are wide enough that they "float" very well.

If all you will be doing is working in the dirt (no lawn), then I would go with the Ag's.

Go for the ag tires. I find on my Agco st30x that I run out of traction before I run out of HP. If you are carefull you can minimize the damage from the tires. I am forced to lock the diff and use 4wd more than I think should be needed.
I wish I would have got ag tires.

I have a BX24 with the R-4 tires. R1's weren't an option on the BX24, I'm told due to the slearance issues between the bars and the backhoe.

Anyway, I've been doing a lot of dirt work (loader, backhoe, moving large rocks, brush moving) and the only time I spin the wheels is when I'm not in 4WD and should be (like digging into a large dirt pile). 4WD and an occasional use of the diff lock pedal has worked fine. The R4's also ride pretty well on our asphalt drivesays.

I'd go with the R4's, in fact I did! My tractor guy explained that the ag tires will give you grooves after a few mows following the same route (like the edges on the property). My neighbor is a HE operator and told me the same thing. So far I have used the diff lockout once and 4wd twice for a few feet (**** groundhog). The R4 is slightly less agressive than the Ag tires.

BTW I got my 2350 two days ago and I couldn't be happier, you'll enjoy yours.
Just go slow and gain experience then tackle the big projects.

Fear not... the industrial tires will provide sufficient traction..seldom if ever slip, and if they do, there is a reason

Bar by far.
Today I found out 4wd front turfs and wet soft spots don't go good togrther.

I don't know if the ag tires are higher ply now or not but my ag tires on my 23 are very thin. I had to patch one a while back and the inside of it looked like a porcupine with all the thorns in it. If it wasn't for the slime in them I wouldn't be able to work a day without patching the tires. I am going to get the r4s for it this summer as they are much thicker than my tires.
Right now I have two sticks in my front tire that I need to patch, which gets to be a mess with the slime in there.
