I have a Ford 1900 tractor. I use it around the farm for small jobs. Im having problems with flats. I have Mesquite Trees on this place and i run over quite a few. I have the front tires foam filled no flats but tis hard on the drive train. I could do the same to the rear tires but really dont want to if I can help it. Iv researched Ultra-Seal but they tell me that it may or may not work with Mesquite thorns. So I researched aircraft tires. They dont make aircraft tires 12.4 x 24. So Im open for suggestions. What do I do? Thanks for all your help. Randall Lovelace Zephyr Texas

We used to buy a small bottle of pink liquid that we injected into the valve stem, then re-inflated the tire. Used it on 4x4s and ATVs. A 32" 4x4 tire would take 1 1/2 bottles. This practice, combined with a clean rim while monting plus a coating of a product called "RimTite" and we very seldom had problems from thorns, rim leaks, etc. The rim tite would also let us run pressures down close to the single digit range for a smoother ride (and better traction) on the pointy stones (whereas greasing the rim for a better seal would spin the rim in the tire.).
We didn't do the 'rock blasting" like you see on Utube but simply sedate rides to the outback starting with trout fishing in May and ending with the Nov deer hunt.
I don't know how it would work (if it would) in a loaded tire though

If they are tube type.. you may be able to boot it with heavy rubber under the tube.

The Slime is the best I,ve found so far . for quick fixes . I put about a half of a bottle in a front 4wd on mine last week & Moved Dirt all over with the Loader bucket , Expecting it to not Work. But seems fine, No air loss & No Mess putting it in either . It doesn,t appear to set up in the Bottle or fill nozzle either , So I Doubt it will be that bad to clean out of the tire When I have Time to fix it Right . Works Great on Lawnmover & wheelbarrow tires. Just My Opinion though . Plus Its not flamable :D . Bob

The problem that I have had with a lot of tire fillers, is they tend to rust steel rims fairly quick. What I have had some luck with is cutting the outside half of an old inner tube and lining the tire with that. Just an extra layer or two that something would have to puncture, plus all the farmers around here have some laying around so you can pick them up for free.

you've seen puncture sealers that are rim corrosive? seems like that would be a conflict of interests.

( corrosive ballasts? yes.. for sure.. )

My personal experience with slime on a small trailer tire is it did not work even with a slow leak. I blew out a tire expecting it to hold air for an hour. When it heated up it expedited the air loss.

I've never had slime help anything but a bead leak. and that it did well.. punctures.. I've always had to plug or patch them .. not saying it's bad stuff.. just never seen performance like the bottle claims..
