While I am still debating a new (bigger /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) tractor I pondered the tire question once again. I am currently running R4's but wondered about turfs so I don't tear up the lawns and fields as bad in mud and rain season up here in New Hampshire. My R4's aren't to bad but they aren't real helpfull in snow and mud. My thought was to run turfs and maybee put a set of aggressive chains on in the winter and spring for snow removal and getting firewood etc. etc. Does anybody here have experience with one over the other, as I am looking at maybee a tn75 the added weight would be better distributed on the turfs. So ???? Turfs with chains or sick with R4's?????

i used chains on turfs before with a 27 hp tractor and i have to say from brush cutting in the mud to snowblowing i never had a problem. but a lot of that depends on common sense too. having a fel helps in case you do get bogged down.

Chains for a TN75 would weigh quite a bit. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif You should also check to make sure there's enough room between the tires and the fender. If you spend a lot of time in snow and mud, I'd vote for the chains on turfs.

I've never been in mud or snow that 4wd couldn't get me out of. Perhaps I'm not adventurous enough. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
