I notice in the video that there are triangle supports welded under the lower tines. Neither of the two sites below show welded triangles under the lower tines. This would impact the ability of the rake to slice through the soil to dig roots. There have been a number of recent changes to the 60" and 72" root rake grapple's information on these sites to be more correct. Are the pictures on these sites correct or is the video?

Joe, Thanks for your feedback regarding the Rake style Grapple. When designing an implement, there's always a balance between durability and practicality. The goal is to be as strong as possible, while offering the highest possible performance. It tends to be a give and take proposition.

Year after year, Titan continues to develop their product. Recently it was determined that the newer Rakes should be engineered with gusset plates on the teeth to offer a higher amount of stability to what generally can be an area that receives the most abuse. The minimal impact on digging is very small compared to the brute strength it adds to the grapple.

Thanks again for checking out our product!

I just got the 60" Root Grapple Rake and think it was very well built. I found that after using it while picking up a rock I bent the top tines (two) . I had a friend weld some gusset plates between the top tines, and a couple of hooks on it. This has made it so much stronger then before . I've been moving trees and rocks with no more than missing some paint . I'm very happy with mine so far .

First One,
You only had to weld on the top tines, correct?

Titanskidsteer,
Can you post a current close up picture of the top and lower tines on the 72" grapple if I were to order one today? It would be helpful if the two website's pictures were corrected as well. These are1/2" T1 tines on the 72", correct?

Yes , that is right, and a couple of hooks . Made all the diff. in mine to make it stronger. I needed it to be able to move some lg. stones ,that's why I had it done. But mine is not 1/2 " steel either , it's 3/8
