LS XG3025 Shuttle
Has anyone used this. It has been updated and has a shear bolt. I would be using it on a LS XG3025 shuttle in clay soil.

I bought one from ebay a couple of months ago. Used it once or twice so far. the first day the supplied shear bolts snapped while I had it set about 6" underground. no rocks, roots, stumps, etc. going super slow, it was just hard clay I guess. I bought stronger bolts but haven't used them yet. Seems to be suitable though.

Surely someone on TBN has used one of these. I need a subsoiler, don't mind changing shear bolts. Just don't want to waste money on it if it won't work.

This product appears almost identical to the Heavy Hitch product..

It also appears there is a vast range of prices... Some being about 4 times the price of the lowest price of the same model.. Beware..

About 3 (?) years ago now I bought the Heavy Hitch model.. Works well for me..

It would seem ground condition is very much a factor in how a sub soil tool will work.. In some soils you would be hard pressed to pull the tool with 100 hp...

I plan to build a homemade "mole plow" shank and tool to fit the existing hitch adaptor.. I want to use it to allow as much water as possible to get in the ground for our fruit and berry bushes and trees..

Again... Ground condition is the most important it seems..
