Ford 1920/MF 1130/ Ford 8N/New MF 491!
In the next weeks I have the job /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif of buying a new platform/4wd/fel utility tractor. I've about narrowed it down to a 491 MF or a TL90. Any known problem areas with the TL's? Any owners out there want to brag or cuss'um? Thenks for your suggestions!

There are very few TL owners on this board. I have run one for about 10 hours and was enough for me to get a feel for the machine. The TL-A is very easy to use and it does not take long for you to feel like you have been running it for years. It is very easy to work on or around the motor with the flip up hood so if you need to run wires for any monitors or such you will have an easy time. The only thing I did not care for and it is just a personal thing of mine is that the cab seemed short. I did not hit my head or anything but when I sit in the seat I see the ceiling slopeing down in front of me. It was annoying to me but something I would have got over as when I am working I am usually looking behind me or to my side anyway. If I recall you were not looking for a cab tractor anyway so you should be very happy with the TL-A. Rick B will pop in and tell you more about them. He has a lot of experience with them as the dealer he works for sells a lot. But like I said, they are very easy to run and that is a big thing to me because I don't want to have to train someone to drive a tractor everytime I need a hand. Good luck to you.

Forgot to add, they are very light on their feet. Get the right set of tires to meet your needs and you will be happy. I was baling a field for a friend whose baler died. The field had wet spots all over it. My TN would sink a lot, the TL would float over them better as it weighs a little more then the TN but has a wider footprint which makes a good haying combination.
