I was looking at a TN 75 with the supersteer axle today. The dealer was unsure if a snow plow / pusher box could be added because of the supersteer axle. Does anyone have any experience in this area?
Thanks Dylan

I would think it would be tough (impossible) to engineer. At full lock and full oscillation the front wheel with the outer radius will just about cross the centerline of the tractor. One company has engineered a forklift attachment for TNF Supersteers that mounts to the front axle because they couldn't engineer it to hang from the front bolster, but I wouldn't want to push from the axle. Of the NH tractor series that offer SuperSteer, the TN has by far the poorest goemetry IMHO. I wouldn't have a TN with SS.

I agree with RickB. I had a TN75 with SuperSteer and traded it for a TN75D. Granted I had computer problems with the S, but I used the opportunity to trade for the D model which I love. The SS was lousy with the loader, not because of the offset when turning but the instability with the axle fully turned. The tires also spent a lot of time plowing forward rather than turning. The D in effect turns almost as well and is much more stable. If I were running an unloaded 75, and doing a lot of row work and mowing SS would make sense. I run a 9000+ pound TN75D and find it very stable. The same equipment, Woods 1050 bh, loader, and 1600# of RimGuard made the SS some what spooky.

Thanks for the input. That's what I was thinking. My TC33 just tends to slid when trying to fully turn as well. The dealer mentioned an axle mounted plow but wasn't sure if it would work out.

A little later this year we'll be mating a snow plow to the the QA on our 17LA loader. I'm sure it will work on our SuperSteer equipped New Holland.

No reason that won't work. I was thinking of a conventional frame/bolster mounted plow. My thoughts were probably narrowed to that configuration because I have absolutely no use for loader mounted plows. But many folks get along with them just fine.

The tractor I was looking at did have a loader and quick attach bucket so a plow could be added there.
I would prefer to push a plow from the tractor frame and not the loader arms. Probably won't happen with the SS.

I did notice that my TC33D will take a plow.

Could you elaborate on this? I am concerned about radial forces on the loader and damage. Especially on my TN. Have you seen some damage related to this.?

Thanks in advance for your experience.!

Plow on the loader has some distinct advantages, such as banking and pushing over hills.

But the further out front it is the more it will shove the front end around.

I have a loader mounted plow (very old Dearborn) that I originally used on a 8N. Since then it has been bolted into a bucket with quick attach and used on my 2120 and TN. I agree that it tends to push the nose sideways when on slippery surfaces or with a heavy push..Here is where the split brakes come in to steer. Work very well. Even though I usually agree with RickB, here I respectfully disagree. I love a loader mounted plow over a frame mount. For the reasons stated by slowzuki. When the snow is deep, I push piles sometimes 15 to 18 feet high by raising the plow and driving up the pile. Try that with a frame mounted plow /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I also can't imagien the forces on the TN or loader frame are any greater than using the loader with a bucket. I also have the ability to quickly drop the plow and change to a bucket if needed to move piles. One last thought, the ability to tilt the plow also helps sometimes and the ability to drop the plow over a drift pile and backblade is very useful to pull snow away from things. To the optimum setup on my TN is the loader mounted plow and a rear box blade for scraping the final bit of snow... Now if I only had power angle... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I keep telling myself that I will add it.
