As the title says I am having trouble with my loader joystick cables sticking. I have tried lubing them to the point of trying to force lube into them with an air compressor to no avail. I feel I have got the point where it is not going to be fixable. So, my questions are- Is this common? (I have not seen very many people having this problem.) My options, as I see it, include buy the new joystick/cables assembly for close to $400, risking the same thing happening again. Or, buy something like the prince loader valve, eliminating the cables and any future problems with them, but necessitating plumbing lines up to the valve. Anyone deal with this?

I deal with these on vineyard tractors that have lots of hours under corrosive and dusty conditions, but haven't replaced any yet.
Have you disconnected the cables from the remote valve and tried moving? Thinking the remote valve might be binding.
Also, those cables are about $105 each. Not that that is cheap, but you don't have to replace the joystick.

Yes, I have made sure that it was the cables. Also, I have been to two dealers and my joystick is only available as a unit. The one that you pictured is actually one they sold me that was wrong. They showed me mine and said I couldn't just buy the cables. The other problem I am running into is we are having subzero temperatures and the cables are so stiff they just don't move at all!

Are you sure it's not moisture in the cables if it's affected more in the cold?

Yes, it very well could be moisture in the lines, but I can't get it out. I tried to force WD40 through the housing with an air compressor. It didn't work.

is there any way of setting up like a space heater that would direct good steady heat against the lower portion of the cables. the moister should collect in the lowest spot. let the heater run for a day or two just don't have the heater too close. then try and force some isopropyl alcohol when your done with the heater . i've tried this before on something with cables and it dried the moisture right out but it has to run a while to get it done.
